About B PHARMA
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) is an undergraduate degree course in the field of Pharmacy education. The students those are interested in the medical field (except to become a doctor) can choose this course after the completion of class 12th (PCM/B). After the completion of this degree, the students can practice as a Pharmacist. Pharmacists can work in a range of industries related to the prescription, manufacture & provision of medicines. The duration of this course is 4 years.
This is a 4 year integrated program spread over 8 Semesters, leading to a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. The program is tailor made to train the students to play an important role in community pharmacy and assist the Pharma industry at various levels. The course is predominantly based on practice and interaction with a strong focus on the healthcare system. This will enable students to practice pharmacy profession in a strong, skillful and determined manner.
B Pharm is an undergraduate degree in the field of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science. Students who are interested to study about various drugs and it’s effect on the human body generally opt for this course. Majorly, it includes the study of drugs and medicine, their pharmacological action, chemical structure, formulations, biochemistry, etc.
The degree must be accredited by the All Indian Council of Technical Education (AICTE) or the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
There are more than 1100 PCI approved colleges across India, giving admission to more than 90,000 students every year.
Vast job opportunities are thereafter B Pharma. Students can become a Drug Safety Associate or go into Clinical Research or Pharmacovigilance sector. Students can also become an R&D scientist or can open their own pharmacy. It is one of the most popular job oriented degrees for science students. That is why it’s so popular these days.
Students can also study further to increase their qualifications or better job opportunities. M Pharm, PhD, LLB and even MBA can be pursued after BPharm course.
